Almost all of cruise ship companies register in places like Panama, as that means they don’t need to adhere to the laws of the countries that most cruises run. Exactly.  I took my kid yesterday.  It’s a pretty cool thing to see in a theater and if you’re 8 years old you’re not bothered by an unsophisticated story.  It was better than I remembered too.

I mean, no, but there are countless historical events that get turned into films which don’t make massive imprints in the global consciousness. That was simply all Cameron. I don’t think the fact that it was based on a true event had all that much to do with its success. 

There’s also basically zero competition in theaters right now and it's been kind of a dry spell, which doesn't hurt.

Should be top comment. The movies “Office Space” and the office drone aspects of “Fight Club” were kind of representative of the era as well, and clipping Dilbert strips to put outside your office was, like literally everything else ever, cool until it wasn’t.
