Quick comment on Full Metal Alchemist, I originally thought the show was dumb after watching the first 4 or 5 episodes, then one night on Adult Swim, I tuned in and saw the fight between Edward and Greed, totally got me hooked after that.

Record of the Lodoss War is what got me hooked into anime.
