Sure, that’s one way to go...
I’m so glad this reply is in here - because when I drove the ‘05 GTO (LS2 6.0 6MT) for the first time - my thought was “this is 90% of a BMW M6 for 40% of the price”.
Even in the heyday, the commentariat is what made the Gawker sites what they were.
I think of it more as a friendly tennis match. We’re both pro-Aussie, with him being native (lucky bloke) and me being a former owner and fan of their product. We’re just batting around the debris, sadly.
But the drop-off had happened long before ZB. The VE/F never came close to moving the prior generation(s) volume. There’s a lot to unpack in there: rising oil prices, the late-aughties financial implosion, etc. but a brand-new all-homegrown model barely shifted the needle going from 2006 to 2007. Even with a shiny new…
Swing and a miss, though I’ll presume that’s intentional. The controversy was they resurrected a legendary name plate, one that represented the textbook definition of Detroit muscle car to a couple of generations, on a captive import. Kinda like if they rebadged some Opel and passed it off as the Commo. . .…
I think it looks pretty good for a Pontiac.
The BMW drive was probably being an ass because the stupid Tesla was camping the lane. I hate it when people do that.
The Tesla camping in the left lane immediately removes all credibility they had.
theres probably 20 F150's for every 1 Civic.
HAHA but I was picturing Linda Perry driving it with her What’s Up? hat and aviator goggles. You might be right though, because I actually like 4 Non Blondes.
I don’t hate the redesign, but it looks less Art Deco and more like the 4 Non Blondes tour bus. I could see it in a steampunk themed video game.
No, but there’s certainly not 20 civics for every F150
So far I’ve gotten away with it while living in Minneapolis, Chicago and Orlando.
The stall feature is a good idea. Nothing builds character like stalling your car 3-4 times on a hill with people honking at you from behind. Today’s kids need to feel that level of frustrated embarasment.
It is rare in my neck of (lack of) the woods. North Dakota here. We have a few Teslas, but those are basically acts of rebellion at this point.
