I had an ‘05 Tahoe for a long time and those third row seats hosted a lot of buddies to watch football/wait to play the winner of dart games in my garage. They got a lot of use, but never in the vehicle proper.

I agree with you. And at least in my area families team up to offset the basis of income. It’s not uncommon to see households with 6-8 people living in a two bedroom apt. It’s a cultural norm.
