That’s my point, why so much secrecy around the “new” 2019's when it’s just a mild face lift?
Not from what I’ve seen, all of the spy shots show the same body as the ‘10-’18 trucks. Take a close look at a comparison between these and the 2019 1500's and it’ll be fairly obvious that they’re not the same. I highly suspect that this is nothing more than a face lift, with the newest body style (matching the 1500)…
Why is Ram bothering so much with the secrecy on this truck? Based on the teaser images and all of the spy shots this is nothing more than a face lift. It’s the same body, and same truck they’ve been selling since 2010, with a front end that is styled more similarly to the new body style 1500.
That’s not really a new truck though, that’s the same body they’ve been using since ‘09, with headlights that look more similar to the new ‘19. Based on the teaser shots these do appear to be the same truck, but I’m not sure why they’re bothering with the secrecy because it’s not a new truck, it’s just a facelift.
Dad’s got one sitting the grove in South Dakota, probably one the only ones in the state as I’ve never seen one on the road. I saw another one once sitting beside a shed, but by the time I got back there the next year it was gone.
Nah, all unmarked gravel roads here have a 55 mph speed limit and that’s a very comfortable speed, especially in a truck. 65 is still easy to manage, above 75 things start to get sketchy.
Riding with a friend in his slightly lifted first gen S-10 back in high school heading I don’t remember where, probably the local dirt track races, taking gravel roads to get there. We were going fast for gravel roads, but not obscenely fast, probably around 65-70 mph when we came upon a short, but heavily arched…
Yeah it’s way too expensive, but between this and a Rav4? I’ll take the bike.
Not sure really, but within an hour of home there are at least 5 dirt tracks that I can think of. The biggest is Husets (currently Badlands) which runs Sunday nights and has smaller classes up to the big 410 sprints, and brings in the World of Outlaws. The other closest track runs Saturday night and doesn’t run the…
This is my local track and this is great news! There's a lot of people excited about this. On top of this the other local track that was closed down due to the same guy has been partially renovated this year from volunteer labor and plans to reopen this year as well. It's been too many years since I've been to a race…
I got a book on building flathead V8's, which further confirmed why I don’t want to build a flathead V8 (right now), I got the book Go Like Hell, and a replica patent drawing for a 1948 Indian Motorcycle 2wd motorcycle.
I can fully appreciate all of the details, design, artistry, craftsmanship, and intricacy that goes into a watch, but I can’t fathom ever spending money on one. Mostly because I don’t like wearing jewelry/bracelets (even my wedding ring), but these days a watch is a luxury, especially a nice watch, and that’s just not…
Yes and no to both. The final episode covers some things that end up in the final film, yet the final film makes things that were really hard look easy. If you’re already that deep into the season, I’d just finish it.
I’m a little biased but I find the gauges from 99-03 F-150's very nice. Maybe not the prettiest gauge cluster, but thin needles and hashes for every mph and 100 rpm make for a very easy to read gauge. Anything with thick needles and minimal speed markings* is a bad design and you’ll never convince me otherwise.
We used to be able to buy all the meat/cheese/ice cream we wanted from our university meat lab/dairy lab using our meal plan. Until Aramark decided they weren’t getting a fair share of meal plan money and leveraged the school into capping it at $50. Thankfully that was after I was living off campus, but having a meat…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
212,000 on my ‘99 F-150 with semi-regular towing duty and I’m %99 confident it’s never been changed/flushed/opened. I did add a bottle of trans-medic to it at one point maybe 10 years ago, I know it hasn’t been open since then. Maybe I should change it, but it drives perfect.
My mind is on constant rotation of what I want out of my next vehicle and having a newborn that I want to take along in a few years adds another level of complication. Ideally I’d like a fun sporty hatchback like a GTI, or maybe another 924/944, just a fun car in general really. Buuuuuut, I’d also like to start doing…
but as an engineer my default position is to tinker and optimise.
