For what it’s worth the new Softtail line is completely updated and is a huge improvement over the outgoing bikes. The frames/brakes/suspension are right on par with everything else out there.

Maybe other dealerships are different but any used Harley coming from my local dealership pretty much is certified Pre-Owned. They’re super picky about what they put on the floor. I brought my Sporster to sell because I was looking at a bigger bike and they lowballed the shit out of me basically due to some paint

In short, yes. What you’re basically getting is the same main frame and basic suspension geometry. Harley has been doing this for a long time, a great example is the new Softtail line. Each bike has it’s own unique seating position, foot position, bars, rake etc. The Dyna line and the Sporster line have done the same

Eh, I like them. They’re fresh new bikes on a much more modern platform but still have that HD flair. I don’t think running on the same platform is a big dealer either because in Harley talk that’s basically saying they share a frame hoop. Each bike can still have it’s own suspension setup, rake, etc. These might not

Any more information on that engine? Looks all new and it looks good. It’s nice to see them finally go to full liquid cooling. Really curious to see how this develops into the new Sportster platform.

Look, there’s enough people here spouting shitty and unsafe information that you just never know, no need to be an ass.

Those speeds weren’t necessary then, but if you don’t want to be a hazard on the interstate they are now. Towing at 80 is perfectly acceptable with the proper rig, which guess what, is exactly what these trucks and modern trailers are built to do. Trailers do have brakes, and they usually work pretty good, but cars

Can that car maintain a minimum of 70 mph, or more realistically 80? Even up hill? Can it stop that beast in a reasonable distance? I highly doubt it. Sure you don’t need a luxuried up $60,000 truck to tow it, but any modern truck will do a far better job, and be leagues safer, than anything pictured here.

Bop it!

Jelly bean F-150 with either a monstrous aluminum block twin turbo LS, or wedge in a 6.7 Powerstroke, tune either to make 1000 hp minimum, and pair it with a six speed manual. Keep it 4wd for monstrous launches and of course upgrade the rest of the drivetrain accordingly. Lower it some, convert the front to coilovers

I’m leaning heavily toward the F-150, but the Ram is still tempting. I’ve driven several and out of all of the full size trucks on the market it’s still the one that’s impresses me the most. I’ve heard of all of their reliability issues, but have yet to experience, or know anyone who’s experienced them first hand*.

if you care about resale value”

Most newer trucks have proven pretty well that they can last quite a while, plus I’m not talking huge mileage, maybe somewhere around 125k or so. Higher trim trucks typically are treated a bit nicer as well, but you never know. As for adding options, it might be possible, but it’s gonna be expensive, and a ton of

Half ton, no smaller, 6.5' box minimum. Looking at F-150's and Rams, crew cab prefered, quad/extended cab possibly acceptable. My main dilemma is I’ve found several crew/6.5' Platinum trim F-150's with 125k-ish miles for the same price as lower trim trucks with 50 - 75k miles. Part of me really wants a optioned up

Is it a lizard? I bet you have a lizard.

In the market for a new to me pickup, I could either buy a really fancy pickup with higher miles, or a lower trim one with much fewer miles, which direction would you go?

Coincidentally I have two (well, 1 is a ‘49). There are actually a ton of 70's pickups on the roads still, while the 80's and 90's trucks have mostly rusted away. There’s also far too many high end luxury trucks around here than there should be in such an AG heavy state.

It’s mostly bum fuck nothingness out here, but not all. Charger guy’s up there though acting like we still drive around in horse and buggies around here and haven’t seen a unique car ever.

Depends on where you go, around a couple of the big cities $300k will get you a fairly nice acreage, but get away from the bigger cities and that will buy you quite a lot.

He’d need to open a track first because we have none in South Dakota :(.
