I just posted a picture.

Since Jezebel had a post about Aishwarya Rai's weight recently, I was expecting her in this roundup. Here is what she looks like at Cannes this year. That sari is all kinds of amazing though I wish she had chosen a different, less busy blouse and let the sari shine.

If only this Jezebel post had added those three sentences that you wrote. But no, the entire article is just petulant complaining about how we cannot get our fancy artisanal cheese anymore.

The problem is that this post never talks about the people who depend on the cheese business. It is all about how it is affecting us, the consumers, who are rich enough to buy artisanal cheese. I am not so rich, but given the comments, I guess some people are.

That is exactly how it sounds. I felt like I was listening to a petulant child complaining about not being able to play with their favorite toy.

However, Red Tails was considered to be a badly made movie by pretty much everyone. I was thinking about watching it but it has a 25% score on Rotten Tomatoes by the top critics. Given how much business Think Like A Man has been doing, despite being sexist and misogynistic, you cannot blame everything on the critics.

There is something in the tone of the post that I find in bad taste.

Has this post been written ironically? If not, I find it in very poor taste.

I believe that if Redtails was publicized worldwide, it would have done better than it did in the US. Why it wasn't pushed worldwide is a different question but it wasn't even pushed much in the US.

I don't see that many British movies in the US either. But then, Americans think British people speak a completely different language.

I tried to tell you that I was responding to a specific line in the post. I did first think it was a Tyler Perry movie until I read some comments and then rechecked. Honestly, I don't even know what is your problem with my comments. I must be too dense to get your pithy one liners.

Titanic was such a success because it had very little subtlety. Hence, easy to translate to other cultures. Also, most people are familiar with the general story of the Titanic sinking and so many people dying.

Actually, I re-read the post and I was right that it is based on one person's opinion, the one in the Facebook post.

So many people are mentioning Tyler Perry because the post itself mentions Tyler Perry.

I agree with you about Les Intouchables. I haven't seen it yet but I have often pointed this stereotyping out to my French boyfriend while watching other French movies.

This is from the text quoted in the post:

Yup, that's the one I am talking about.

I was wrong that this post was based on one person's opinion. It was based on a couple of blog posts and things written on a Facebook page. That was my last point and I accept that it was wrong.

I am a POC (though not black) and plan to move to France in a couple of years. Trust me, I have done plenty of research about racism in France. If you had bothered to read my post, you would be able to tell that I am fully aware of racism in France. My problem is that this post only paraphrases what is written on a

I agree that there is probably plenty of racism in France (or other European countries) but I don't buy that as the primary or headline-worthy reason for Tyler Perry's movies not showing in the theaters. Except for big action movies there is very little connection between the box office standing of Hollywood movies in
