I think this is a valid point. There is a difference between not being a dick, and just being passive in life. Asking someone out is always going to be a risky situation, you can’t predict what the other party will think or feel, but you can’t let that fear always get in the way - at some point you have to take a risk.

To be fair, he is also a service worker. So then it’s her who is violating the same thing. No, it’s not as big a problem for men, and we do know he wants her to - but she doesn’t. She might be worried about the same thing he is.

Yeah, the credit score calculation is not designed to benefit you. So just trying to eliminate all the sources of debt actually hurts you. Instead, you have to pay off the debt, but keep the lines of credit. Having good credit require discipline.

There is a world of difference between a method that’s perfect in a vacuum, and one that’s functional in the real world for real people. That’s why the “debt snowball” method is a thing: because for real people, it tends to lead to better results.
