There is a “cheapest in the long run” method, and there is a “momentum building” method. The former is, if you can swing it, better. The math isn’t hard to grasp, if you pay off the debt with the most interest, you waste the least on the interest, and therefore spend the least.

What are you saying? That’s exactly as the story describes. The dealer bought the car with a feature, and the feature got removed after buying it. And then the dealer, believing that the car had the feature, sold it with that feature.

I agree, but it doesn’t save them from being liable if they don’t make it right. I would accept an “oops, our bad” and not throw the book at them over false advertising - so long as they enable the software the car is supposed to have, and pay all the legal fees. But it's hard to argue that it's just a mistake, if you

Are you aware that an “s” doesn’t actually indicate anything?

The issue isn’t the removal of the content, it’s that they sold the car with that content advertised, and it did not actually have it. That would be like the window sticker saying that a car has a 7.1 surround system. Only to find out that no, half those speakers do not exist. You can’t tell the customer that the car

Why remove it? Probably because they know they will lose their asses at auction, so why include a software feature they can just sell for full price later? Personally, I think it’s bullshit to sell software features for hardware you already bought, but if we accept that practice for a moment, I don’t see the harm in

I think it’s more a matter of Tesla running an automated audit for some reason (likely there were actual illegitimate activations of the software on other cars), and they flagged this one - or perhaps they intended to remove the feature from all lemons before sale, and this one slipped through the cracks, and the

So where can someone stream this now? Asking for a friend...

Is this really a loophole though? It sounds like this still costs more than going to a regular store and buying it yourself. And it doesn't sound like the club store is actually selling it at club price to a non-member. It sounds like this advice is just... Completely useless.

Why would you throw away the case? The case should be durable and capable of being used to store the disks while not in use for years to come. Why in the hell would you buy a physical game... And throw away the case?

And that of course is the other big problem: how can you make this personal for someone with enough wealth and power to ignore it? For someone who stands to gain from the demise of others?

we want to save the earth so that humanity [to] survives

Right? This sounds like the perfect storm. Somehow didn’t validate the recovery address, forgot password, broke phone, etc.

Ugh, my college had student Emails on a subdomain (email@students.school.edu), and that caused some interesting issues. There isn't anything wrong with doing that, but some form validations get hung up on that extra '.' in there.

Alright, you clearly have no interest in opening your mind. I'll just let it go.

I think I did a pretty good job outlining what lie I’m referring to. And I think you are ignoring my point because you don’t like to have your worldview challenged.

That’s not what I said, I said that you can choose between $XX,XXX for a school or $X,XXX for another... and still be drowning it debt, because both of those numbers are bigger than most students can really afford, and bigger than they will be able to reasonably afford as new entrants into a competitive workforce.

Yeah, I'm not sure what argument they are trying to make. Type-C connectors are impressively robust. Much more durable than lightning, which has a tendency to snap off inside of devices, requiring some really good tweezer work to remove.

Before I read this, in response to the headline alone...

And that’s the crux of the issue, the plan would have a lot of benefits. But paying for it could have an equal number of negative impacts. And I’m not sure I believe that just taxing the super-wealthy a bit more is a sufficient solution - partially because it’s highly unlikely to actually come to pass anytime soon.
