Generally agreed, if you’re seriously allergic then I can understand wanting to be very sure about the breed and not taking a chance that you’re getting a dog that you’d have to give up after a week, which would be soul-destroying if you’re replacing a beloved family pet that has just passed away.

I’ve had multiple straight women say that to me in so many words. I’ve also had more homophobic behavior from straight women than straight men. I grew up in Texas and the straight men were MUCH more accepting of me than the straight women were.

If they didn’t, I do. Straight people generally say clueless, awful things all the time. It’s unfortunate, and I think it’s more rooted in ignorance than any outright hate, but it’s still true.
