It’s a feature, not a bug.

Bad storytelling is made worse with bad sentences and Paris is a minefield of try-hard metaphors (“The endless school day felt like being waterboarded with a vanilla milkshake”; “Time slipped out of joint, like a dislocated shoulder”; “People broke into that house like it was a Cadbury Crème Egg”)

I am not going to read this memoir because I don’t like Paris Hilton. I read this review on the off-chance that maybe I was wrong and maybe there is something introspective here or something worth re-contextualizing about her that I would be interested in as a pop culture consumer. Nope. She comes off as the same

Counterpoint: Paris IS dumb, and while she might know how to tell the stories her moronic fans want to hear, she doesn’t know how to WRITE anything. She, like most celebrities who write a memoir, had a ghostwriter. Her contribution to this book was probably just speaking into a recorder for 8-10 days. I fully believe

The protester has a point.

How should she have handled it?

Am I the only one who clicked on this assuming it had to be Pete Davidson?

He should’ve considered the woman’s pro-choice views before inserting his penis into her vagina.

“Abortion harms not only the unborn children who are killed, but also the fathers who have had their fatherhood stolen from them”

All that overthinking just to end up wearing a boring and basic black strapless dress and what looks like black pumps I’d wear to the office?

oh i loved tar and i thought blanchett was robbed haha. wasn’t unhappy to see yeoh win, though, she was the best part of that movie.

Totally agreed. Fun movie, but not best picture. And I haven’t watched all the other films (mostly saw the big ones: Top Gun, Avatar, Elvis, Everything, and All Quiet), but with almost all of them having majority white casts and filmmakers, I’m not shocked the Academy voted the way they did.

I’ll be honest - I love EEAAO. I don’t think Jamie Lee Curtis’s performance is the strongest. I think Stephanie Hsu was stronger just looking in the same movie. Bassett got to do some capital A acting in Wakanda Forever with those monologues she got. I would argue Bassett deserved it more if we were to look just at

Emily Blunt reminds me of her line from The Devil Wears Prada which is something like “I’m one flu from my goal weight.”

I liked Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, and saw it multiple times, but I’m a little surprised it won this many awards. But I haven’t watched enough of the other movies to file a formal complaint. It’s good to see strange, non-IP, non-Awards Bait movies win, but even still, when I was watching it I never thought

Twitter is of course furious that anyone beat Angela Bassett because social media needs a villain and most of them have only seen MCU movies, but I thought this was the best Oscars ceremony in years. Just a wonderful, positive night throughout, and the first time I can remember that my favorite movie of the year won

I think that, traditionally, usually a long-time actor who is well regarded in the Hollywood community will always win the Best Supporting Role Oscar if they have never won before. It’s very often a lifetime achievement award.

I know the “nepo-baby” thing feels all new, hip, and oh-so snarky, but FFS, to call Jamie Lee Curtis a nepo-baby - even jokingly/ironically - is just stupid. She’s been working as an actress for fucking decades.

Yes, he’s ‘helping’ people”

I think Parks S7 beats 5 and 6.
