Opinions of Musgraves aside, there’s precedent for Chipotle to do this kind of thing. I can’t remember the year (can’t be bothered to google it) but back in around 2013 they did a long form animated commercial (similar to this one) using Fiona Apple’s rendition of Willie Nelson’s “Pure Imagination.” 

In 2003 singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson released a song, ‘I Saw’ which included the lyric: “And I’ll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to.” And then like 8 years later Taylor Swift released ‘All Too Well’ which included the lyric: “And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.”
