they’re likely maintained our of their own pockets instead of tax dollars. people who live out in the boonies know they’re going to have to maintain their own road, (call in a neighbor with their grader, and a dump truck load of gravel...) its one thing for some lone truck to come thru every once in a while, but when

purposefully UNMAINTAINED”

That’s not their concern, so no. Their concern is a lot of extra traffic by tourist off-roaders degrading the roads and making noise.

yeah.... as much as i’d like to say “chill out, it’s a public road” i can absolutely understand the hazards and issues it may bring.

This is trying to be clever but really ignores the reality of what a bunch of ppl can do to roads when they go all over the place where they shouldnt. Which they do/will.

While the Class 4 roads are public roads, the town doesn’t want to deal with off-roaders and any potential shenanigans and damage.

The roads they’re talking about absolutely were not made for motor vehicles.

How about we not advocate for even more laws that the cops can arbitrarily apply to us? I’d be fine with fines for CAUSING an accident while distracted. On the other hand distracted driving that doesn’t cause an accident should be a non-issue.

Don’t empower them. They’ve totslly abused it here.

If only people typically went to prison for killing someone with their car...

“(T)he very same Kalashnikov behind the iconic AK-47 assault rifle that gave the Wehrmacht a kicking at Stalingrad...”

Yes, that’s right — the very same Kalashnikov behind the iconic AK-47 assault rifle that gave the Wehrmacht a kicking at Stalingrad

It seems to me that this article, like the car, has no point.  Or at least it has a point, but probably should have led and stayed with Renault.

Agree to disagree. I like the butch looks, and it is very on-brand for Hummer. I think they’ll sell well, even at that price.

I dig it. I’d rather have a Rivian, but it’s certainly going to be appealing for it’s target demographic.

your story seems to completely validate the premise of the article that the police are bad at deciding who and when to stop?

It boils down to a complete overhaul of our current criminal justice system. A system that at BEST can be described as a regressive tax. If I get a 200 dollar ticket, it has no impact on my life. Because of my fortunate place in the world. At worst, our system has become one about warehousing human beings on a level

Your traffic ticket, brought to you by Ring, from Amazon.

This is the whole damn truth. And while being a police officer isnt even in the top 10 of most dangerous jobs in the country one of the most dangerous activities is jus being roadside during stops. Ppl run into cop cars because they are rubbernecking and it causes injury and havoc.

Yeah, how about no. Speed cameras are BS.
