No it’s not. Wrong. The firm was founded by a German, (Adolf) Adi Dassler. In Germany, Adi is pronounced with a short a and a short i, like Addy. Dassler is pronounced as it is spelled, dass as in ass. Put his name together and it’s Addy-dass, not the stupid American mispronounciation of A-deeeee-duhz. Germans

Relatively good should be emphasized. The gearing on the manual is awful, you never feel like there’s any power unless you are wringing the shit out of it, the electric power steering is absolutely numb and means you have to pay constant attention to not wandering, and the fly-by-wire throttle is meh at best.

Did they fix the wind noise issue? I tried to be a good Jalop and buy one of these for my wife but it sounded like we were in a hurricane driving 60mph. Ended up with a CPO Lexus RX instead. This is the whitest comment I’ve ever typed.

Hopefully it’ll finally come with rear A/C vents. Seems like a minor omission but very helpful if you have back-seat occupants in hot climates. Every CX-5 competitor except for the Forester has them.

Ugh these shouty unoriginal d-bags again?

Wait, $3k in repair costs / $12k in total car costs is bankruptcy? If it’s a regular stream of $3k repair bills then sure. But this just seems like a one-time bundle of deferred maintenance that needs to be done on any older European car bought from a stranger.

Quick glance at it i thought it was a forester.

Honda CR-V. The mom jeans of cars.

It would be a Toyota Highlander. It is possibly the most un-Cars-and-Coffee in the history

But does that make manufacturers somehow predatory for designing things that work as designed? in my mind this is more on the consumer or dealer than the engineers. In a turbo vehicle stay off boost for mpg’s, but the boost is there if you want to burn gas and go fast. It was never a lie, it’s understanding how to use

Is this news? I thought that was the guiding principle behind turbos anyway - better MPGs because it relies on you cruising at low RPMs. My old Audi A4 was fine at 2500 RPM but I knew that stepping on it was going to drive the MPG down quickly. Did people really think there was something for nothing here?

Seriously, the VWs being busted all the time thing is pretty outdated. I know a bunch of people with Mk6 Golfs and Jettas and none of them have had huge amounts of repairs or costly repairs. The Mk4s were nightmares but the last couple generations have been pretty good.

Yeah, the MKIV has been out of production for a while. And considering that Acura, Mini, Subaru, Mazda, Jeep, and Fiat all rank lower than VW in reliability, I am not worried.

Quite frankly, I recommend the Golf to everyone I know. Need a car with a great amount of cargo room because you have kids? Golf Sportwagen. Need basic transportation? Golf. Need I nicer car with nice wheels and good tech? Golf. Need a practical car that goes like stink and is great to drive? Golf GTI. Need something

I said it before and I’ll say it again.
