So you are telling me, the rest of the world, where 90% of trucks are 4 door short bed, that they don’t get any work done?  Tell the taliban that their trucks are no good.

I have a 4' or so bed in my Frontier and I haul all sorts of shit all the time. If you can tie a knot or two, anything fits. I haul full sheets of plywood no problem. This truck would be no different.

4 door short bed has been the default pickup in most of the world for a long time.  Just learn how to tie knots and you can haul anything in the 4.5' bed with the tailgate down.

My 280zx only goes to 85 of course.  I used to calculate how fast i’d be going according the the revs.  5000k rpm was somewhere north of 100 I think.  Only went there a few times.

What do you do though?  The interior is completely gutted.  Refitting it would cost a fortune.  Unless some rich guy takes this up as a hobby, I don’t have much hope.

This version of the Rabbit is so familiar to me I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it.  When I think “Rabbit” mostly I think of the 81 style, as my dad had an 81 pickup.  We also had a couple 80 pickups on our farm.  We ran those things for 20 years.  Just about destroyed them multiple times.  Should have bought

Every old timer will tell you that if you run a 6v starter on 12v you will eventually burn it up.

We bought a base sienna.  Part of the reason I wanted it was it only comes with 17" wheels.  It has a very nice ride.

What you need is vinyl.  Or the hide of the rare nauga beast.

Japanese cars all used to have nice tow points welded to the frame, probably for transporting via ship.  Of course that doesn’t work so well with modern bumper setups, thus the screw in tow hook was developed.  I’ve used them a few times to get folks unstuck, but most people don’t even know they exist.

You are able to have this discussion because gas in the USA is just way too cheap.

Yeah I know, my family used to have a 1970 1600.  It was a great car.  We lived in E. Wash so the desert climate really helped with rust.  Mechanically they are just as reliable as any Datsun, which was light years ahead of any British car of the era.  My grandfather marveled at the car in comparison to his prior

Miata’s are great but the Datsun 1600 and 2000 ran circles around the MG’s in performance and reliability 25 years b/f the miata.

And the courts may agree. I’m sure this will get ironed out in the near future. What Tesla is doing is pretty irresponsible and I think this crash proves that.

Seems you’ve discovered how easy many Japanese rigs are to work on.  I would say in general, what you found on your land-cruiser is also the case with most Japanese cars (maybe not Honda).  I don’t think a lot of folks realize this.

Yeah it’s annoying sophmoric bullshit.  Just like naming the models S, 3, and X.  How stupid.

I think it used to be pretty standard for the parking brake to be a tiny drum brake under the hub part of the disk.  First i saw was on an old Mercedes.

Well according to the dealer, it’s totally gonna fall apart after the warranty expires and I will regret not getting the extended warranty big time.  Like the computer, the doors, etc.  Boy will I be sad.  Lol.

I honestly kind of hate V engines.  They are a bitch to work on.

The 2020 was getting pretty old.  Crash ratings were not that great.  New one is steller in this regard.  We bought one as it’s a no brainer in my opinion.  Sure the 2nd row doesn’t come, out, that’s sort of a bummer, but it’s still bloody huge.  We came from an Impreza, so our dog is really happy about it.  My only
