These screens in cars look neat, but in 20 years will any of that shit still work? I’m guessing since it’s a benz, no.

Z-cars spent more years being semi-bloated GT cars. These were all the most successful years. I vote to go back to that, honestly. It doesn’t have to be that hard core in my book.
I vote for only a 2+2. Make the seats fold down easily. It’s too expensive these days to build two versions. My 280zx is a 2+2, I’d love to have a modern version of it. Plenty of great sports cars are only available as 2+2's.
You are comparing apples to oranges. Biggest problem diesel has is emissions issues. Similar sized diesel engine will always outperform a gas engine economy-wise. There’s just more energy in diesel fuel. Our gas is too cheap here for most americans to care, even if there were affordable diesel engines to buy.
Everywhere else in the world loves this rig except the U.S. Maybe it’s cause our gas is too cheap. You can see a lot of them in Canada. The only person I know who has one loves it.
Fuel economy? Torque? I will admit that gas engines have gotten better.
Yeah not sure those always worked. We had a 220D growing up and I have some vague memory of maybe a hand pump. I also remember cranking the motor while my dad cracked each injector line individually. Involved some swearing I believe.
Yes this is why you will NEVER want to run a diesel out of fuel. Air will get in the lines and it will be a major PITA to get the bloody thing going again. Been there, done that.
The scout to have is of course the 1980 with an SD33T. Anybody who swaps that out for a 350 or something should be slapped.
Yeah either way it’s amazing that this guy got 800k out of the clutch. I guess Chicago would make it a bit easier. I’ve lived in Seattle the last 15 yrs or so. Forced myself to learn to “heal-toe” when I first moved here. Still don’t find it easy to do. A lady-friend of mine once thought she would impress me by…
I think a lot of folks think they know how to properly drive a manual, but don’t really. All I’ve got to compare is my Nissans, but I’ve never had to replace a clutch. My 280zx went over 200k before I replaced the clutch during a motor swap for good measure. My Frontier is at 144k so far. My dad’s got a sentra with…
I feel that this is just a good way for your cargo to join with your body.
“Sail Pillars” probably ad a ton of rigidity. This thing’s got a huge frunk. So I would think it has plenty of utility. My 2000 frontier only has a 4' bed or so and I get along fine. I just leave the tailgate open and tie shit in. No big deal.
We have one for work. Of course it’s a base model 4x2, but it’s a 4-door. I kind of like it. Definitely feels bigger than my 2000 Frontier, but not huge. I’m not sure why Ford would be ashamed to admit this is the same as the overseas model. Why on earth would that be a bad thing? One gripe I have with the truck…
I learned how to off-road in an M38-A1, so I agree. It’s all about having low enough gears. Older gutless autos can leave you stranded as the torque converter just spins if it gets bogged down enough. Never would happen with a manual.
It already comes with a diesel. I give two shits about a “hemi.”
Pop up headlights were a solution to U.S. D.O.T. restrictions that mandated sealed beam headlights until 1984. It gave designers a lot more options. You will notice that some japanese cars like the Corolla and some Hondas had pop up headlights in the USA only. Also U.S. versions of mercedes, volvo, etc used sealed…
Datsun 810 or Maxima. Probably not easy to find anymore. I always figured that they would be easier to swap an RB into vs a z-car as they come with L24's with front sumps. Most RBs have front sumps from my understanding, and require some modification to fit in an S30 or S130. If you dont’t know what any of that…
He’s blaming everyone but himself for losing. Maybe folks just made a rational decision and decided not to vote for this hand-waving old fossil. No effing way am I gonna bank on the yunguns’ coming out to vote in greater numbers than the suburban moms. Ya’ll just ain’t got the votes to defeat trump. Not enough folks…
I hope this segment comes back and is actually useful. My dad’s farm truck in the 80s was a rabbit pickup and it was great. A small little pickup is so easy to load and work with. Plus you can drive it down vineyard rows and such. The payload on this thing is impressive. I could see a lot of contractors maybe going…
