I wonder if Amazon is beeing DDOS attacked as well, in connection with WikiLeaks. I've noticed some definite lag but figured it was holiday shoppers. Then there's PayPal, but they are always egregiously slow.

@napilopez: I've only seen it once so far, so it's quite likely that the plot holes I noticed were simply due to my lack of paying complete attention.

@Jesse Tobiason: Exactly! What I truely hope Hollywood learns from Inception is that original, complicated, well-written movies can be financially viable. The reality of course is that they have only learned, OMG ZERO-G FIGHT SCENES WE NEED MORE.

Am I the only one who was never confused by this movie? It was a wonderful little mind frack, but never did I not know what was going on or lose where in reality a scene was taking place. Okay so sometimes I didn't understand WHY something was happening, but I think that was more a fault of plot holes than anything

@Mr B Natural: Frack. Images never work when I want them to.

So I empty out a semi full of pallets (because that's all semi-trailers ever carry, pallets) and I've got two homes! I can't wait for an apocalypse.

I'm hoping ChromeOS will be multitouch friendly out-of-the-box, but either way this'll be dual booted on my netbook at the first chance I get.

@Benedinho: I've trialed Gamefly twice and was disappointed both times. The expense is absurd for one thing, and the closest shipping center is two USPS zones away, so 3 day wait from the time they ship + whatever the line time is.

@unsungfame: I'm only repeating an email I received from OnLive a few weeks ago. Replies to my comment make me believe it might not be as awesome as I thought.

OnLive also recently changed their subscription costs to 9.99/month with unlimited access to the games in their library. Not, X/month + cost of games, like before. At that price, I might actually start using the service.

If it does succeed, I could see Hulu trying to sign on some of the popular web series producers. There's some incredible original content on the web that I'm surprised studios and networks haven't yet tried to bloodsuck. I guess that day is coming now...

I was surprised to find that the web version of the book reader is positively gorgeous. I was thinking about buying some textbooks on Android development for my Kindle but I think I might buy them through Google and read them on the computer instead, since I'll be writing code on the same screen anyway.

@Ashaleeeee: I still fight with myself over my platform of choice. I bought the Kindle because they had just released the wifi only model, the new version e-ink was gorgeous, and I could buy it on my Target card.

So I guess the non-DRM'd ePub/PDF books would be Kindle compatible (after conversion with software like Calibre) but this is a kind of bummer for all the rest of the books. (Which I guess is most of them.)

@Captain Fish, PhD (c): Well I for one would love to see Alec Guinness do a promo for MILF Island.

@lostarchitect: Grado cartridge for the win! I feel like its some hidden secret of cheap vinyl lovers because almost never do I meet another person with one. I'm using the 527-DE "Green" unibody right now to save some cash but I've used the "Red" in the past and it is divine.

@Zendax: I can't afford the high end stuff either, but I was able to piece together some decent equipment from Goodwill stores and garage sales. Needles I still buy new, that's like $75 every 6 months, but my entire analouge stereo set up (yes it uses a tube amp!), minus the speakers, under a $100. I'm not going to

Besides sounding awful (how's your mp3 v. vinyl argument work now, punks??) I imagine the steam would warp the records over time. At the very worst, moisture could collect on the surface of the vinyl, which would permanently damage the grooves when a needle runs over them.

@RuckingFetard: Yeah I've been thinking about it for awhile and I do agree, the heft is necessary for comfort, and certainly this phone is thinner than the PSPgo or a DSi, but that realization makes me wonder if the world even wants a Playstation phone. Right now I'm thinking I'd rather just carry around two devices.

Wow that is...surprisingly not awful. The device itself looks thick as a brick though, even for a slider. I carried around a G1 in my pocket for far too long and I'll never own a phone that clunky again.
