What would happen if you used the LEGO Scanner to scan another LEGO Scanner?
@MikeSWelch: Technically there is already a Kindle Android App, and this is technically an Android tablet, but there's the matter of that locked-down B&N Market. After Apple's many fiascos with their App Store, I wonder if B&N would make the same mistake by disallowing competitors e-reader apps. Would Amazon even…
@Jakooboo runs on caffeine.: E-ink was the main reason I finally left physical paper books. Going to LCD feels like a step backward.
@OMG! Ponies!: I'm an Orange fan myself. Both the solid state and tube heads have a clean & bright "vintage jangle" sound with a punchy bottom end that doesn't distort. (The perfect amp to run Danelectro lipstick pickups through, imho.) That Vox model is my second choice though.
Dammmnnn...I hope it shows up on the Roku soon. That "Coming Soon..." channel has been taunting me for what feels like ages.
@txwill14: The prices are difficult to beat because they're factory seconds, often not meeting up to normal Quality Control tests that the electronics shipped to other retailers are required to pass. If you're happy with that, cool, you really can get some good deals. But I always feel like I'm taking a gamble when I…
@JDickson87: I feel the same way. Once the motherboard is swapped, is it really the same computer? Even on Windows 7, a MoBo swap will require a complete OS reinstall anyway, and unless its the same socket, a new CPU. Maybe even new memory depending on how drastic the upgrade—so unless you consider the shell that…
@mullse01: Power-user posers? xD
"Should you really be actively managing background apps?"
@OMG! Jakooboo!: There's something about the classics, you know? I've got a cheap GFS Strat-copy which ain't too bad, but am saving for a Jaguar-reissue right now. I'm not really even interested in the new tech.
@Cairbear: I too have a similar bad habit of writing proper English in my short-text communiques (including Twitter). Nobody ever gives a shit, but at least I'm granted a false sense of superiority!
I haven't even sent 34 texts this year. I need to get a life.
I'm only going to say this ten more times, "I'm Peter Graves."
"I'm Peter Graves"
@floobie: I've got the red nylon Jazz III's. Do the tortex make much difference, sound wise?
You think that Alan Alda is good? Check out Peter Serafinowicz's on his eponymous Show. (The impression makes a brief cameo on a recent Running Wilde episode as well.) It's much scarier spot-on.
Haven't watched Chuck since near the end of Season 3. Gonna watch it on November 15 because (do I really have to explain amongst this crowd?) I'm a sucker for anything Summer Glau is in.
@Irving94: Self-deployed spike strips was a highlight of the first Hot Pursuit title, NFS3. Maybe not realistic but hella fun.
