I compared the opening lines of RPO to the opening lines in Snow Crash. It's so dire and it makes the RPO popularity even worse. Even if you don't like Snow Crash, one has to admit that the amount of energy, style and attitude it has is far beyond what's in RPO. The opening lines in that are so sedate, and yet

I am so incredibly happy this is back! I'm gonna start this the moment I get home from work.

I'd say the whole chase in TDK is actually really good.

A lot of people make a lot of assumptions about how people should react in action movies without having any experience on the matter.

I feel like "dumb" or "stupid" are pretty baseless criticisms a lot of the time. A way to criticize a movie without actually saying anything. Especially because a lot of the time the inherent stupidity can be a part of the appeal. Like every time someone starts off talking about a new Fast and the Furious movie by

Sci-fi recycles its own ideas all the time. If you want to come at Pitch Black over Nightfall, then there are like, hundreds of other movies, games, books, comics, etc, that you should go after first.

Yesssss. It's got some dull moments but it's really great from an action perspective. The way they cover each other in the shoot outs, like the initial hostage situation that leads to the ultra slow car chase. Really great and creative action in that one.

Versus is awesome. It was one of the first "cult" type movies I watched in high school and it blew me away. Feels kinda forgotten about in this day and age though.

Totally agree, I think that sort of thing is really missed from modern action a lot of the time.

The 10 black belts scene is incredible.

It is 100% an action flick. It's got a lot of more general crime stuff mixed in there, but the chase scenes are all really old school action filmmaking. Pure stunts and good driving.

I know it's fun to hate on the originals, but that's just wrong.

That's the beginning of Chronicles.

Oh crap, true >_>

Oh, I didn't realize it was more common. This is my first Persona game. And I haven't spent much time with the special fusions yet either.

Weird list. Why is Mishima so high? That's wrong.

Of course Mishima's most powerful shadow isn't good enough to be a special fusion.

Morgana's magic stat gets pretty crazy by the end though, easily does more damage.

That was my initial hope, because the pitch "group of rebels stealing death star plans" sounded like a heist film set up to me, but apparently it was an excuse to make a "war" film in a series called Star Wars.

I think it would be the opposite case. Maybe I should explain myself better (or maybe my experience with the book was different than yours) but I felt like there was a clear turning point about halfway through where I became acquainted with the writing style and technological concepts and stopped being confused.
