Didn't even realize he was the landlord in Kung Fu Hustle! It's been so long since I've watched it. I really love his role in Condors, so vicious, and it comes out of nowhere. Their physicality and body language played such a huge role too. It's really missing from modern action stars.

I don't think I've seen any of her films but Chocolate has been on my list for a while. And apparently she's going to be in Hard Target 2, with Scott Adkins. Sounds interesting.

Hehe, when I said MC I meant main not male. I actually played as a female character too and really enjoyed the voice acting.

Oh man, you are in for a treat with Demon's Souls. It holds up so well. The gameplay is surprisingly fast and the level design is fantastic, especially The Tower of Latria. The bosses are very different from the other games though. They're more gimmick based, like Legend of Zelda, but there's a few you can see

I think the storyline have you play as an undercover agent really worked to its benefit. It allowed a lot of interesting choices to arise naturally, and without feeling really binaric. FNV is still the best though.

Being a fan of the game and having never seen anything but praise for its combat, this thread makes me sad :(

70s-80s Hong Kong really was the pinnacle of action movie filmmaking. I like that the tonal inconsistency of those films was mentioned too. I love that sort of thing but North American audiences and filmmakers seem to really dislike it. Like a John Woo film would be 50% melodrama, 50% people getting shot up real good.

EASTERN CONDORS IS THE BEST

My favourite isn't Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan, it's Gordon Liu.

Fist of Legend tho

TBH AV Club and its commentariat always seemed pretty skeptical about NMS, which also doesn't surprise me at all.

That's true, but I doubt most people bought it physically and then realized there was no multiplayer, it seems like a lot of people were getting mad about the lack of multiplayer before it was even released, around the time they announced that you only needed a regular PSN account to access the online features.

They're somewhat similar, but I think when people say a game has "multiplayer" we all know that they mean a game mode where you directly interact and play with other people. When someone talks about the "multiplayer" in Dark Souls, they're talking about co-op and invasions, not the messaging system.

"Even the "multiplayer" was always stated as "Well, it's feasible but
unlikely that any players could meet each other in a universe this big"."

I agree that a good build up is essential, but an unexpected one can be great too. The Exorcist phone call is pretty unexpected iirc. And one of my favourite jump scares is from the movie Inside, at a point where you think the characters are relatively safe, one of them gets his blown off by a revolver. It's

I am sooooo glad screamers aren't a thing anymore. Probably because we've all moved on to YouTube videos, so you can always check for a jump scare, and gifs are more commonplace for comedy. I remember clicking a gif link used to be risky because there was a chance it was a screamer, now we just assume it's something

Sony advertised a part of it, but they weren't the ones on stage and in interviews, that's on Sean Murray, and a lot of the players expectations come from things he talked about.

I really dislike how often people blame the players.

The animations and voice sync isn't as good but at least the cuts aren't as jarring.

Barb could probably beat him in a fight.
