I think racing under the Finnish flag would make people think he is only in F1 because of his dad. Monaco would make people think he is there because he is a spoiled rich kid & son of F1 driver. So he went with Germany.

I know I just feel like he races under the german flag because people equate that with good race car driver, where the monaco flag is equated with spoiled little rich kid and son of F1 driver. Im not a “hater” or anything like that, honestly the only thing that bothers me about him is racing under the german flag.

Please can we stop saying Nico is German. He was born in Monaco and lived there his entire life. He only has citizenship because of his mom. He’s as German as he is Finnish.

He is also a reserve driver for Manor. They will prob. let him race at COTA like last year. I doubt HAAS would offer him a deal like that.
