None of the Turbo’s, GT3's, or GT2's had an IMS issue. Up until the 991, they used a different block and an engine that is most often referred to as a Mezger engine.

The 996 and 997 turbo engines are completely different from the N/A m96 and m97 engines which suffer from IMS failures.
