I think you’re attributing way to much to the attention span of the public.

X-Men is definitely a big seller for Marvel. Fantastic Four has peaks and valleys depending on creative team. They’re not necessarily a popular character set currently as much as they gain popularity when written by a Mark Waid or Jonathan Hickman.

They may get FF for a song if this movie tanks.

I understand the thought, but it’s a dumb idea.

It’s just gross.

Well DC used to do “classic”. Some of their characters looks like the Flash, Superman, Batman were so Iconic that there’s never really been a need to “update” them outside of minor tweaks.

The execution of this story was a disaster but the outcome is great.

I understand the desire to redesign Cyborg, his original design looks simplistic and dated.

While we’re talking about impossibilities:

In my case the 22 mile commute with two kids under 4 might result in a lot of unhappy people.

Exactly what I was going to say, almost word for word.

Nice writeup!

I know. And I’ll still cringe every single time.

I’m glad this will necessitate the end of Joe Q saying “it’s YOUR world”. For years he’s said that the Marvel 616 Universe is our reality. All super heroes aside, do you remember that ancient primordial land hidden beneath the South Pole or the hyper advanced African civilization light years beyond the rest of the

I think Hickman was planning a story from that time, not necessarily an “event”. A lot of Marvel’s creators seem to get events sprung on them by editorial and are forced to adapt their plans to fit into the company-wide mandated “big deal” every 6 to 12 months.

This is great news for me.

I remember being really excited about this, and I still like some of these casting choices (Hello Adam Brody) more than the current picks.

Doesn’t mean they’re “alive” in those movies. An appearance can be made in the form of previously recorded performances and you still get a credit in the movie.

Given Chris Evans expressing that he’d like to just direct (and the plot of Civil War), you’d expect it to be Cap.
