From a recent journalistic film chronicle of life among the youth, Superbad: "Just imagine if girls weren't weirded out by our boners and they actually wanted to see `em..."

"Crusading against rules just because you don't like them..."

So... where can we donate to give this girl a hell-yeah grant toward her college education? Because I think we should be rewarding the kind of character she's shown in this situation.

Sounds like you have something to say about this. Would you consider writing a post with your perspective, on your own Kinja page, and starting a conversation that displays the kind of empathy you say is lacking here?

"It doesn't matter how you'd like the world to be, it matters how the world is."

Not all men not all men. #verbed #paradox

<<I think that what we need to acknowledge is that this is not an either/or situation.>>

"It is not inappropriate for these institutions to take reasonable measures to keep employees safe, and that includes investigating harmful behavior and firing/expelling those who endanger others."

This gave me a chuckle. But: Is there a way to push back against these kind of boorish propositions, that don't involve body-shaming? For I don't know that penis size has been shown to have much to do with someone's character. (I admit it is harder to draw character than to draw a small penis.)

I can't wait to see the speculation escalate when we have a grandmother color running for POTUS.

Poet here, popping in to report that most poets agree with you: the poetry is overrated, and its authors overcompensated.

"Overtime pay has to come from somewhere, most likely from reduced hours, reduced salaries or reduced bonuses. "

I'm a cis straight male in New England who has a number of guys that I consider close friends, but who notes that I tend to make friends with women more easily, and get along with them more readily. Any number of people have called this out as indicating vanity, self-deception, insecurity, and/or misogyny on my part.

Storm Large makes a pretty good case for re-normalizing the word "vagina" for celebratory use.

I was going to respond to "the idea of shale or a pipeline giving them 2-3 dollar gas..." but then I saw you already did so: "The whole damn thing is an exercise in short sighted brilliance." Yes, that hits the nail on the head.

Just wanted to share with folks this new post from Hoochie (Boston University's feminist media project), in which one of the main supporters of the student petition(now with more than 2,700 signatures protesting Thicke's presence on campus) explains in greater detail her reasons for objecting to Thicke's planned

A "really over the top feminist read"... or an awareness to look at the lyrics with even a modicum of critical inquiry? That's okay. I understand. It can be scary to consider that you may be part of a problem. Hang in there.

Relatedly, Humanist students at Boston University, with support from the BU feminist blog Hoochie, are circulating a petition asking that Thicke not perform on their campus in March:

This scenario should be the basis of an MMORPG.
