It’s almost as if people expect pay raises after doing a good job and working for years, at the least the kind that keep up with inflation!
Something tells me it has more to do with fairly inexperienced kids and young adults being told of potential raises that never come and not realizing that they’re going to be expected to work like they’re getting paid commission when they aren’t, all while under constant threat. Seems like you just like to complain…
I don’t think it’s that people are surprised by their pay when they get hired. It’s more that they can’t live with constant inflation without their pay increasing.
Employers are like strippers during a lap dance; they’ll encourage you by insinuating there will be more all day, but it never comes.
Discord, on the other hand, is a for-profit startup that needs to continually scale in order to get bought or eventually go public.
Welcome to capitalism - this is the way. It objectively makes almost every business worse from the customer perspective all in the name of shareholder value.

Anyone who says writing is easy has probably never tried to write a well thought out, cohesive story that doesn’t have terrible dialogue and rely on cliches.
Redfall started development before the Bethesda acquisition so I doubt its core vision had anything to do with MS. Bethesda tried making niche, single-player games before. They all sold poorly. Dishonored 2, Prey, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, Evil Within 2... all were commercial failures. So, Bethesda decided they…
It does not matter. The world’s biggest games are multi-platform. Streaming is the future.
Buying a PS5 and picking up a game or two a year (which is what I do, because those Sony games are exquisite) does not cut it anymore.
This generation will be the last consoles we buy.
I might be alone here but I don’t particularly care for exclusives. I’d just rather have a good platform with good games that functions. My Xbox gets more use than any of my other devices that have good exclusives save for the few weeks I’ll play a zelda or a Spider-man. I still have no intention of getting a PS5 just…
I’m genuinely curious to know if Redfall is Arkane just absolutely dropping the ball, ala Anthem (ie: they wanted the concept, but just couldn’t make it work), or if it was MS breathing down their neck that scuttled a good idea, ala Dragon Age 2 (sorry Bioware).
He’s also more capable from the get-go, instead of forcing you to slog through the usual trope of having to re-learn everything
After the same crowd got ultra-triggered by the fact that women can have some peach fuzz on their face and might not look like a barbie doll I’d have figured they already totally wrote this franchise off as woke, especially with Ashley’s involvement and all.
The answer to the question of “should we ban Nazis?” is always yes. Glad I could help.
I always thought that it was because it was unfinished - that the “core” of each reaper looked distinctly like a different species, and that the general reaper look was the exterior hull and such, which we just didn’t see because this human reaper was early in its creation.
Plus it made narrative sense in terms of the reveal of how Reapers were made and that weird ‘We’re kinda preserving you with our genocide’ thing the Reapers were doing.
