It’s a component of the issue for sure, governments are going to have to plan traffic control more efficiently, AI needs to be better at adapting to actual traffic conditions, not theoretical, and drivers need to obey the rules of the road. In Phoenix, which is a hotbed of anonymous car testing, the AI cars are almost always in the way. Left lane camping, slowpoke acceleration when the light turns green, refusing to move at the speed of traffic etc. Sure, they might be following the letter of the law but when traffic (including police) is moving 5-10…
