I think it was a missed opportunity to show WWII from the French perspective. Yeah the Brits had it rough at Dunkirk but can you imagine being a French soldier knowing that you and your entire country are totally f*ucked and your once great army has been driven into the sea?

Well reasoned article, only problem I see would be if a large scale conventional conflict knocked out our sub bases would it mean a loss of the sub based nuclear leg? I know the subs can operate long term without maintenance but not for ever.
