I’d argue that the railgun will make the carrier obsolete, the ability to accurately lob hundreds of shells from 220 miles away is cheaper, safer, and more effective than F35 sorties against all but the most distant of targets.

I think we will see the battleship make a comeback once railgun technology matures. It might not look that much like an Iowa class but it’ll be pretty awe inspiring all the same.

Law enforcement has all sorts of goofy terminology, my favorite is when suspects or criminals are referred to as “bad actors,” makes me think the police are launching a manhunt for Nicolas Cage and Keanu Reeves.

I’m opposed to the death penalty but if we must why not bring back the firing squad? How is a bullet through the heart less humane than a complicated cocktail of makeshift drugs that may or may not cause excruciating pain and suffering?

The hate comes from why would anyone want a small crossover to begin with? This particular one isn’t any more loathesome than any of the others I suppose.

I know I probably sound like a hipster minimalist douche but I’ve started doing this as well, I only have a few sets of clothes and shoes but what I do have are high quality and mostly made in the USA. For example, I have a pair of Redwing chukka boots that I wear to work almost every day. Yes, they cost about $300

You are giving people crap for drinking beer yet you have a Volvo crossover in your profile pic? I was assuming you were more of a Brodozer guy, what gives?

Funny, people always claim that they need a vehicle with lots of space yet 95% of SUVs and crossovers I see are driven by one person and aren’t hauling around a washing machine.

Are you sure it is based on the C-HR? I know it is just a concept but it looks like it has a rear pumpkin making me think it is based on the updated Tacoma - welcome news if it were true.

It all comes down to platform sharing unfortunately, it is cheaper to kludge together a “rugged” version of a mass market crossover than to develop a basic yet competent 4x4 platform that will meet US safety standards. Since no one actually takes these things off-road the manufacturers know that they can get away

Nooo! Definitely not okay. We need more off-road oriented vehicles with transfer cases, lockers, and intentional design, not kludgy softroaders with funky AWD, electronic traction gew-gaws, and 90% of their parts shared with the cheapest of compact cars.

Russians dont get huffy with righteous indignation over corruption in the way that Americans do. It is more of stoic acceptance and gruding respect for those who get rich in shady ways.

Indeed, crossovers/SUVs ruined both the sports coupe and 4x4 markets. Most people have convinced themselves that they need a vehicle that can “haul stuff.” They’d rather drive an overpriced, dorky, ponderous, egg-car every day of their lives than pay a $50 delivery charge the two times a year they buy a new piece of

Actually a brilliant move for a hacker without a high school degree. Sure, a few years in an Indonesian prison will likely suck but he’ll land a cushy gig as an IT security consultant once he is out.

Seriously, he’ a young guy, not an aging trophy wife contemplating a modestly substantial divorce settlement.

Yeah, looks like all men, could have easily been confused for a Stag party.

Would it be possible to create a Jalopnik sub-site dedicated to crossovers, minivans, and other topics of interest to senior citizens, yoga moms, over-sized stroller enthusiasts and the like? It would make it all a lot easier to ignore.

Yeah, it’s known in some circles as the Jaguar E-type of egg cars.
