Funny you should ask, a buddy was given an 2008 or so AWD CRV and he kitted it out with AT tires in an attempt to make it somewhat off road capable. Still, it struggles with anything more difficult than a slightly neglected dirt road.

Jeep owns a money printing machine with the Wranger and the 4Runner still sells well despite the fact that it hasn’t seen a significant update in 12 years...12 years!
