You are missing the inner beauty sir: short wheelbase and overhangs, plenty of ground clearance (once the cheesy running boards are removed), built on a truck frame with a truck drivetrain. If this ever came to the US it would increase the number of somewhat reasonably priced vehicles that can actually go off road to

Texas is nothing compared to Arizona which has exactly zero laws restricting concealed carry etc. Just last week an exchange student had her head blown off after being rear ended in traffic. No argument, no words exchanged, the woman who rear ended the student simply got out of her car, walked up and started pulling

Chaab?

Hey as long as it is social media enabled and projects an active, adventurous lifestyle image I’m good!

3000 ft/lbs of torque channeled through a rickety ass steam-punk drivetrain with absolutely zero safety mechanisms. I’d say that qualifies as insane in the best possible way.

Wow, nice to have a captain of industry in our midst. Maybe your company could engineer and market an affordable, fuel efficient, off-road capable SUV? I’d buy 2.

The off-road SUV market in the US is on life support as evidenced by the fact that the Cherokee makes the list.

A slippery slope my friend, the once tasteful GMC is a mere broseph and lift kit away from this:

Jeep is a crossover company that happens to sell a single off-road capable SUV. I really don’t see the priorities changing in the near future. This has been very profitable for Jeep lately but at the expense of their brand reputation/image.

Producing vehicles that can actually go off-road is pretty low on the list of priorities for Jeep these days. Don’t hold your breath.

I’m not Putin up with any more Stalin!

Too funny, I have a masters degree and all of my teeth but choose to drive my 20 year old Ford truck to first dates for the express purpose of weeding out women such as yourself. Proof that my method works I suppose!

The only thing more American than an F-150 is blowing up an F-150 with increasingly large guns!

I think I found the buyer, totally worth the asking price given the impossible to replicate post-apocalyptic patina!

My ‘07 Xterra chewed through 3 timing chain guides and two sets of rear shocks within the first 30k miles. The dealership was happy to replace these items free of charge but I got nervous as the end of the warranty drew near. Hoping that Nissan would extend the warranty for a few years I tried calling, writing

So is this like the Jeep Cherokee of dirt bikes?

Completely appropriate. Al Gore may have invented the internet but ze Germans invented e-mail.

You may have a point if the new Defender ends up being a butched up CUV with boxier sheet metal and electronic gimmickry as a substitute for off-road hardware. I think the odds are high that the new Defender will be the Jeep Renegade, not Wrangler of Land Rovers

I wonder how many people have steered clear of the Land Rover dealership as a result!

Delusional? Have you been living under a rock for the last year? Ford has already confirmed that a new Bronco will be built alongside the Ranger. Toyota updated the V6 in the Tacoma and it made a significant improvement in mileage, no reason it couldn’t do the same in the 4runner.
