Ain’t a goddamn one of y’all mentioning **Rise of the Black Panther** (available wherever you buy comics). I was gonna be all cute with a “do you guys miss me? I miss you...” comment BUT I GUESS I HAVE MY ANSWER NOW, DON’T I?
Starry Starry Night. Sugar Beach, Sipalay. By Martin Tan.
I hated fighting Faith Seed, the highest-ranking woman in Far Cry 5’s fictional cult. She was confusing, annoying,…
My parents aren’t really into gaming at all — they didn’t let me play much of anything growing up, repeating the refrain “they’ll rot your brains” ad infinitum — but whenever we visited our cousins, we’d all play Sonic the Hedgehog together, and I loved it. My mother would sit with us and knit as we played, mostly to…
As a kid, consoles were off-limits for some reason, but my dad being an engineer we always had computers around which of course led to myself and my sisters watching and “helping” my dad play through the classic point-and-clicks like King’s Quest and Space Quest.
By the time I was in college, Wiis and Rock Band were…
You could always stream your PS4 to Twitch when you play. Then your mom can watch you play!
My father was never a gamer, but when I was really young, he would occasionally join me to watch, or in some cases, help out. When I was young, the Ninja Turtles were my favorite, so of course, I played a lot of Turtles on NES. Naturally, the dam/underwater level was incredibly frustrating, and I could never beat…

Miss Ho Sang,
My husband and I, just this last month, taught his dad to play Diablo 3. He’s gone from “Um, can you explain how to open my inventory again?” to almost being able to solo a 70 Greater Rift. And he said last night that he feels like he really knows what’s going on in our lives now that we chat a few times a week.
...you’re kidding right? Are you saying you’ve never played a linear game?
I loathe the idea that everything needs to be explorable. That really ruined Breath Of The Wild to me. It felt too aimless. It made the “threat” of Ganon seemingly pointless over time.
Seems like the focus is on challenge over story or exploration. Not really a bad thing, just different from the normal “Take your time, watch your numbers go up and easily plow through everything that comes against you.” And considering the length of this game, it hardly seems masochism.
I didn’t find it to be too stressful, you just need to prioritize and remember where different stuff is.
There’s very little punishment for dying, since that’s the main gimmick of the game. The game teaches you how to become a better player, how to maximize the time you have available. It’s like speedrunning 101 but less punishing.
i just cant handle that kind of pressure. Timers are a sure fire way to make sure i avoid your game, but that’s me. Hey, if you enjoyed it, thats why we play.
I’ve wanted to play this game foreeeeever. Maybe after GoW I’ll finally pick this up.
