This, I have had several cars inspected in NY, pretty much you need four tires with sufficient tread (lincolns head), lights that work and no CEL. He got ripped off. Maybe he can write a story about the time a dealership took him for a ride.

So does the dirt throttle body, how did they know? Did they pull them out and actually look at them? There are no CEL codes specifically for “dirty” injectors or throttle bodies. Either the parts are working within manufacturer tolerances and pass, or they are not and cleaning them is usually the first step.

Additionally, most of these things should have been caught/fixed at the 60,000 mile service. Which costs significantly less than $750 for a Honda fit.

I understand paying for convenience, but this is ridiculous. You got hosed. I had an old volvo in NY that was subject to the emissions law because it had an OBDII port. I also had an older volvo that had a different emissions test because it was older. If your car doesn’t have a CEL code it will most likely pass

I kind of liked the looks at the time and feel like they have aged well. I seem to remember that at the time it came out, it got the same or even worse fuel economy as the regular civic, but cost more and was slower. They should have dropped in an si engine and a small hybrid motor a la chevy volt. so the hybrid

A list clearly drawn up by someone with fewer than two kids (or maybe one kid and a dog). No wagon, or no minivan? Honestly I hate three-row SUVs but now that I have a kid and a dog, I really kind of want one every time we go on a road trip where I need more than 5" of ground clearance (my relatives live down a 1/2 mil

That tahoe looks like it just came from the dentist and the novocaine is still in full effect. Maybe they build on the design by routing the roof gutters to the front corners of the suv to really complete the drooling idiot look.

What Mahindra was probably thinking “we already went through this legal BS with FCA and we agreed that if we used the 4.5 slot grill and produce the vehicle in the U.S., jeep would not file a trade dress infringement suit”

This article should be renamed: Calling out all turbobricks and jalopnik members. Come offer your opinions on 240's.

I feel like someone created a regular car, then just put the photo in paint and distorted it to be skinnier. Worst photoshop job ever.

The price actually isn’t that out of line, but for me, it’s the wrong color. If i’m going to get a Jag, its going to be British racing green over beige. CP

Great, so now my neighbors Hyundai will automatically pull into her driveway crooked, leave the trunk open, and shine its headlights into my bedroom at 2AM. Thanks Hyundai.

The scariest part of this means that google maps knows where you live. I know they blur the license plates of cars on streetview, but i imagine internally they can do some sort of OCR search on their maps and find exactly where someones car is parked. Imagine how terrible the world would be if those road rage maniacs

I bought a new car last year and wanted a Subaru (was replacing a Subaru). Subaru dealer 1: Made appointment to see car at dealer, arrived was told they sold that car, want to try this more expensive one in a different color? left.

easiest cheapest way to 500 HP: Five volvo 240's or four Mazda Mx5's

The human cost of drivers was never built in to the long term uber and lyft business models. They run massive losses (in spite of underpaying their employees) waiting for the self-driving revolution. Think of the human drivers as beta testers for the platform instead of actual employees, kind of like Google paying

I can’t quite tell from the video, but it seems like a lot of these cars have street biased tires on a course with both road and dirt. I like race courses like that where choices and sacrifices have to be made, this is racing at its finest.

I think this may be a unpopular opinion, but I like to see the interiors of race cars as well. They are never as polished and sleek as the outside, and they’re generally not plastered with sponsors decals (but sometimes they are), but I like the raw utility of everything not needed stripped away. I like the contrast

Honestly I like this generation of Supra, I think the body style looks great. and I give the seller some credit for cleaning car inside and out before taking pictures. That being said, unless it comes with a toyota tacoma and trailer to tow the car, it’s a CP.
