How can you register for legal residency if you're here illegally? My understanding is that only people here legally (on a work visa or other legal means) can register for legal resident status.

I've never understood why stars aren't Gawker-wide. As long as you keep the quality bar for handing them out relatively high, it should theoretically keep the comment content across all the properties high as well.
