If you’re into this type of game, I also recommend Bloodborne. I’m not that gung-ho on super difficult games, but Bloodborne is excellent.

Counter-counterpoint: a show starring that guy would absolutely grab and retain an audience. Not every one is a fan of the asshole protagonist, sure, but that applies to everything. Not everybody is a fan of feel-good shows, or sad shows, or cop shows. But they keep making them, because there’s an audience, and the…
I don’t know about that High Fidelity series...it could just be the trailer trying to appeal to a mass audience, but it strikes me as a more charming/fun take on the story, with a higher energy, which...doesn’t really make sense with either the movie or the novel (both of which are my long-time favorites in their…
While I do have my own personal issue with it, I was also speaking from the standpoint of how they could just do better at their business in general. Usually, I’d defer to the company that’s been in business for years and years and years and makes so many millions of dollars (I mean, it’s not like I’m so awesome), but…
Maybe instead of having like 35 bikes to choose from, many of which look nearly identical to each other (or are different variations with no readily apparent difference), and charging a boat load of money for all of them, they should focus on like, 5. Make five really good bikes at a competitive price. No more of…
I’m pretty sure having $130,000 of GameStop makes you CEO.
The hard thing about Moby Dick - and any pre-20th century novel, really - is that at the time it was written, the extensive explanations on whales, whaling, etc. was vital for someone living somewhere like Indiana to fully grasp the weight of the story. Today, we know what a harpoon is because we just do. We have…
Yeah, when I first read about it, I was like “I can see how you can cross those up and it’ll sound bad.” Then I heard the recording and was like, nope, those are G’s.
Yes! Yesyesyesyes, yes, yes, yes. I loved these games so much! It’s been years and maybe this is more so nostalgia talking but I am pumped.
I bought Astral Chain on a whim and damn is this game good. I’m not even that big on these types of games (although I did love Nier Automata), but this has me hooked. Fast action and slower-paced investigations balance out nicely, a bunch of shit to unlock and upgrade and collect without ever feeling like it’s too…
Episode 4 is when it really hooked me in. I enjoyed the first 2 fine enough (they got by on the “cool” factor); I thought episode 3 was really good but still wasn’t quite sure what to make of it and kind of wanted the show to start gaining a clearer sense of direction. Then episode 4 was my ah-ha moment and I never…
I loved the gameplay, but yeah the progression system was so broken. I assume that’s much better now, too?
The first two episodes are like this, then things start to smooth out nicely in episode 3. The first two are just really choppy, and Geralt’s stuff feels kind of like a formality. And the transitions between characters in the first two episodes are terrible.
I read this interview with Stephen King and he said something that really stuck with me. I’ll have to paraphrase from memory but the gist was, I don’t give a damn about spoilers, if it’s as good as it should be, it’ll be worth it anyway.
I like this option from a price standpoint. $30 to give me paddles that I can swap between controllers is more appealing to me than spending almost $200 for an Elite.
Off the top of my head, say good-bye to ever pressing L3 or R3 again.
The Lighthouse, all day. Bizarre and dark, but also surprisingly hilarious.
I haven’t seen any of the movies on this list, but it’s hard for me to imagine a better movie this year than The Lighthouse. I like and dislike a lot of movies, but rarely do I love or hate anything, and The Lighthouse was definitely in the ‘love’ category.
That’s the danger of one-issue candidates. They’ll sell everything up the river if it means achieving that one goal. “Oh you hate banks but also want to reinstitute slavery? Endorsement!!”
Just came to post that this is really the best part of the update - so far my camp has been permanent and stationary! And when I moved the camp, it switched immediately and stayed. It had been forever since I had a reliable camp.
