Seems like the reviews for this game overall are split into “this doesn’t take the political stand it could’ve - lukewarm reception” or “they improved/revamped everything from past games - enthusiastic reception.” Probably inevitable (and even understandable) given the context of the game, but much harder to parse as

The first time I entered one of the afterlife sections, I literally stopped and went “Oh my god.” It was stunning. As much as Ubisoft loves sticking to a certain (and sometimes crooked) sense of realism in many of their games, things like Curse of the Pharoahs shows how good they can get when they play with reality.

I know this is real and all, and a real person is really badly injured...but at one point I started laughing because it just seems like something the Onion would write.

Damn man. BSB and Vicar Amelia are my biggest bottlenecks in this game so far. My first time against Father G was tough, but since then he’s been a breeze, and most of the mid-late game boss fights I’ve won in 1-3 tries. But 120 hours with this game over a few different characters and I’m still a chump next to those

I was so stoked to play this game in general, let alone on Switch - I even staved off my enthusiasm for it long enough not to buy it on PS4 (for those unaware, it released on Switch several months after the other versions released). When it came out that the game was a technical mess, I sort of put it out of my mind.

The thing I’m having trouble with is all the cables I have running between accessories. So it’s not just electronic to wall stuff. The playstation move and VR for example, has like three chords plugging into the front and back of the Playstation, plus they plug into each other, and the wall. That’s multiple cables

...counter attacks, and a better-tuned difficulty. The game feels seriously unforgiving at parts, and having weapon/armor upgrades locked behind zone tiers means if you’re having trouble, grinding it out isn’t really an option

Here’s my understanding:

Decent into madness? Unhinged violence? Sold.

Would you say 5 is not essential then? I played a handful of hours of it a while back, but the beginning felt like such a slog at the time and I just could not bring myself to drive a taxi anymore, so I bailed on it. I have, however, played 0, Kiwami, and 4, and I love each of them so, so much.

Oh, shit. I was going back and forth on when I’d get around to Far Cry 5 (I like the series, but it’s not one of those games I need to play day one), but this is a damn good season pass. I’ve never played Far Cry 3, so I might have to do it sooner rather than later.

When I played the beta, I couldn’t keep my character in the center of the screen. It was like the camera wasn’t tracking and it’d just let my player go off to the right. I couldn’t make sense of when it decided to do this, it just seemed to happen randomly. Bug or feature? And, if feature, anybody know what causes

I think an argument can be made that a bunch of tiny things should amount to one big thing. Fake fighter jet, video game lobby throwing their hat in the ring...a few more and Jason should concede it. Maybe. It’s an option that I’m neither strongly for or against.

Yep, this seals it. Worst part is, Kirk would’ve won the last prediction if Trump had only done this a few weeks earlier.

If you could stalk the Kotaku comments section and taunt Jason with images/gifs from Bloodborne for the rest of the year, that would be really wonderful. Just throwing that opinion out there.

It’s starting to feel that unless a piece checks off all of our socio-political boxes, it can’t be deemed as worthy, or it must be hated for it’s flaws with an intensity that makes this lapse Catholic uncomfortable (what’s even scarier is how we apply this to people). As a personal example, I know someone who was

Looks like I’ll have to keep reminding myself that if I shatter my Switch into a thousand pieces, I can’t get any of my save files back.

I would expand “can’t” to “can’t do it without wanting to burn the whole fucking world down.” I did quit drinking for a few months after I got a DUI, but I was a furious bastard and once the case cleared the courts, I went back at it with even more reckless abandon.

Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt.

I’d say go ahead and invest some money into it. The game became immensely more enjoyable to me when I had some spare plat play around with, decorate my warframe to look cool as shit (my excalibur looks like if Batman were a Power Ranger), and buy my way through some of the more egregious grinds (and honestly, it’s a
