I saw that. I find his enthusiasm infectious. :)

Yea, Adam Savage is a Blade Runner fanatic. He actually had a small part in the “Blade Runner 2048 Nowhere to Run”prologue. He was standing at the counter next to Dave Bautista at the counter when he was selling his worms. Right after he says “three thousand?”!
Maybe, but Hampton was wrong about the first one and actually got fired. It was nice to see him work on the new one though, and he finally got his “pot of soup on the stove” scene in a movie.
Apparently I’m the only person who really loved Bladerunner 2049. I wasn’t surprised it didn’t do well at the US box office. Cerebral Scifi never does (it’s why Annhilation is going straight to Netflix). But I hope 2049 recovers on sell-through and digital download. That’s ultimately what saved the original movie -…
Oh, you’re getting no argument from me there. I liked it a lot — it’s visually stunning, and if Roger Deakins doesn’t finally walk away with a long-overdue Oscar I’m going to “retire” someone. But I also thought some of Ridley Scott’s criticisms were fair too (the pacing was uneven, to put it politely) but damn I just…
Dear Sir Ridley,
Christ, it’s one of the best movies released in the last ten years. Much like Twin Peaks was the best TV show released in the past ten years. If all we care about is box office success then we’ve completely lost our way.
Oh Joi! Happy! Happy! Joi! Joi!
It’s an excellent film to be fair, it’s just not an easy to watch film, and there is something nice about having the time to show all the things most movies skip for pacing purposes and TV shows have the time for, but rarely the budget.
Wa wa, shut up John, baby
I’m right there with you on the Revolution idea. I’d love to see that expanded upon. Honestly, I’d love to see an episodic Blade Runner series on one of the mature-audience-oriented networks or Netflix. Seems like a great world to investigate through a high-quality, ongoing show.
I would be interested in them continuing the story of the “replicant revolution” they established in 2049- but only if they get a director on board as good (or better) than Dennis Villanueve.
I don’t understand all the hating on Scott and/or Blade Runner 2049. 2049 was an ambitious movie that wasn’t really meant to be a blockbuster. We (myself included) sometimes equate a great movie with box-office receipts. I’ve watched 2049 a half dozen times now and it absolutely holds up. Nonetheless, given the…
Yeah, but it’s Ridley Scott. Even his worst garbage fires are better than most people’s Gold Medal wins, so to speak. Give him 200 mil and let him mediocratize another weekend at the movies, I say.
