I never said 3e was *good*. I’m saying that if you don’t like tactical, grid-based combat and all of the minutiae that entails, you should try playing a roleplaying system that doesn’t devote about 80% of its rules to it. Games like D&D and Pathfinder are explicitly designed toward people who want to sit down and

You may want to go back over the 3rd edition rulebook; it’s filled with spells, feats, and abilities that have precise ranges and areas, and there are plenty of examples for handling grid movement, determining cover, and so on. 4th edition actually simplified a number of things in that regard.

D&D is as much a game about tactical, miniatures-based combat as it is about roleplaying. If you don’t enjoy having that level of detail in your rules, you’ll probably enjoy playing something like Dungeon World more.

I liked Breath of the Wild, but to be honest, it didn’t blow me away. I don’t see why all the critics raved about it so much. Roughly 85% of the game is just solving simple physics puzzles to complete shrines or get korok seeds, and for a while that’s fun, but I burnt out on it after about 70 shrines.

Major version numbers are typically incremented when something changes that breaks API backward compatibility.

You see, some humans choose to form mated pairs. Those that do often enjoy sharing things that entertain them with the other half of the pairing.

You are the first person who has ever recognized that. Nice!

Most of MoD is a breeze, although the post-story stages have a few tough spots... but endgame MoD is also pretty unbalanced, and it’s really all about who can one-shot the other side first.

The Vita has had a surprisingly long tail despite Sony’s lack of support; it’s been a really great system for JRPGs, visual novels, and indie games.

Every half-decent emulator has a better upscaling filter than the one they implemented here.

You’ll have to explain to me how the different hardware is a sufficient excuse for badly-scaled sprites, broken tiling, and a completely different font that doesn’t match the rest of the game’s aesthetic at all. How does this not fit the definition of “awful” at all? I mean, let’s get literal:

I agree that it’s unreasonable to expect an overhaul, but this is /worse than the original/. They have actively put work into making a version of the game that looks worse than it did on the SNES, a 28-year-old console. The only reason to play this version of the game is if you are morally opposed to emulating a

It really makes you wonder: who’s the worse person here, somebody who has pictures of naked, underage girls, or somebody who thinks a valid response to that is to kill hundreds of thousands of people and leave countless more with lifelong trauma?

I think the closest American equivalent would be Jesus. There are plenty of people who would be mightily offended by somebody drawing a penis on a portrait of Jesus.

Because why not?

The problem with those sprites is not their color palettes. I’m not sure what these modders think they’re fixing.

Sadly, this is true. Secret of Mana is a game that everybody has great memories of and it shines brightly in your nostalgia, but that’s really only because there was nothing else like it when it came out.

People like to blame “mental health” every time somebody gets shot dead, but that’s insulting and degrading to people who actually have mental health issues. The vast majority of people who commit shootings would’ve been considered perfectly sane by a psychiatrist up until the moment that they decided to go kill

Not sure that this is a Jigglypuff controller and isn’t actually a Mitty controller.
