I was always a big fan of the artwork that is at the end of every episode of Outlaw Star.

The Deed of Paksenarrion, great trilogy by Elizabeth Moon. Not quite raised in a warrior society, but she runs away from home to join a local mercenary band.

FF Crystal Chronicles is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I didn’t really mind playing it by myself. Generally I only had one other friend to play it with, so someone always had to be the chalice bitch. It’s kind of funny that the GBA was just a map for everyone.
