As I mentioned before, po-tay-toes, po-tah-toes. :-) In the case of specific software needs, I don't begrudge the need for Windows at all. There's a lot of that, and it has its place. And some just don't have the mindset for Linux, and that's OK too - I would be hard-pressed to get my mom to use it!

That works if your customers are internal. If you've got external customers that like to buy their own stuff with Vista/7 on it, and then declare XP need to be installed because X doesn't work... PITA.

Not having to hunt for drivers -try installing Windows and surfing the internet without the driver CD. That's right, you can't, because unless you've got an old network card that Just Works (tm) that you can plug in for a short time, the network card in a newer computer won't work. Not forgetting that awesome 800x600…
