That depends on how the dealership advertises. Compare Toyota to FCA for instance. FCA dealers always advertise insanely low prices that you won’t qualify for all the discounts and they know that, they bring people in the door. Once they get in the door, they expect those prices and then get told they can’t have them.

Hank Hill?

Right. Which most people don’t have. Generally they have a traditional auto loan. Typically if you have good enough credit to get an unsecured loan for a car purchase, you aren’t in this situation to begin with.

Yea here in the states (at least most states) they stamp a lien on your physical title (or the bank holds the title). It’s a fucking pain.

If he owes $24k and he sells it for say $18k, he still has to come up with a way to pay off the other $6k before the bank releases the lien on the title. Selling privately seems like a good option but the logistics could be a nightmare

Considering there are no inspections in Oklahoma, it could get back on the road in the shape it’s in.

Buyers and lenders are definitely at fault. In my case it was my wife (fiance at the time) she got in a wreck and had to have a car. I spent all day on a Saturday while she was at work looking at local dealers. Knew we wanted to spend about $10k which for her income was reasonable. I was looking around and didn’t find

My first thought too. Like I know they’re bloated, but come on.

Yea i’m shopping for midsize now and I am blown away by the price of a Tacoma. I can get a V6 4 Door Colorado for $5k less than a new Tacoma that’s similar. And the Colorado has a higher towing capacity. I mean yea “Well it’s a GM Product not a Toyota” but the Colorado has proven itself to be a great truck.

Same thing with electronics and virtually anything else. I’ve sold computers and things and Craiglist always takes days to sell. I listed a pair of washer/dryer on FB for a reasonable price and within 5 minutes I had at least 7 inquiries. It was insane.

2 years ago we wanted to move out of our apartment and a garage was on our list for the next rental. So many in town had converted the garage into extra living space. Finally we found a rental that was brand new and had a 2 car garage. Fitting our Tahoe and our Jetta in the garage was tight. If i wanted to do any work

really similar experience on our 2013 Escape S. Tranny problems at 12k miles. Had it in the shop multiple times, never fixed it. Finally gave up and traded it in on a VW (Laugh all you want)

Everytime i’ve traded a car in, I’ve kept one set of keys with me until the very end of the paperwork and they’ve handed me the keys to the new car. That way if they pull that shit with me I can go find it myself and drive away.

Yea my friend has a hand rolled security system with Raspberry Pi and just a contact switch on the garage door, then a relay to control the system. It’s not a bad idea, but our rental house already had MyQ openers, I just had to spend $40 on the Internet gateway. New house has non-Chamberlain openers, so I have to

The way I see it, if it enhances physical safety or energy efficiency, it should be connected. A thermostat saves energy. A doorbell cam can help security, garage door openers help security. A toaster that texts me? If i’m far enough away from the toaster that I can’t hear it pop, the toast is gonna be cold by the

Which is great if you live in a normal climate. I live in the midwest. If it’s 15 degrees out and sleeting, I don’t want to get out of my warm car to open the door. Or if it’s pouring rain or hailing, I don’t want to get soaked. Plus no way my wife was going to put up with not having an opener. Call it laziness, I say

Oh i’ve had the same issues. I’ve went to bed and thought to myself “Did I lock the front door. I’m sure I did............ Welp. Better get up and check” And everytime it was actually locked.

Yea it took some time to setup at my old place which had myq openers. New house has “Linear” branded openers, so i’ll have to buy their hub and put sensors on it. Not a big deal, but overall I love the tech. I wish the Chamberlain API was open though so you could do more stuff with it, right now it’s kinda hacky to

I disagree with the garage door opener. I have the Chamberlain Myq version and it’s really nice as a sanity check. “Did I forget to close the garage door? Let me check my phone. Nope it’s closed. good” It’ll even alert me if I leave it open for longer than a predetermined time, or if it opens at a strange, unexpected
