I understand that, but I feel like there's basically never been a real Batman movie. All Batman movies so far have either have so in love with the villain that the hero got short shrift, or it wasn't really Batman, i.e. the Nolan movies for the most part and BvS. I want a BATMAN movie about BATMAN, if that makes sense.

I feel like the 60s Batmobile is just a car with a paint job. The 90s one looks like a vehicle custom built by a madman.

I'm looking forward to this movie, but I'm definitely ready for the phallic 90s era Batmobile again.

Yeah Bale and Jackman really make themselves super duper assholes in that movie, and yet you empathize with both.

I don't know if it was clear, that shudder wasn't like "ew I don't like this ending," it's "good lord, the first time I saw this it rocked me." Also Christian Bale having to cut off his brother's fingers with a chisel. Yikes!

It IS great, I think. It's got great parts. McConaughey has some really fucking phenomenal acting in there. Casey Affleck and Jessica Chastain, too. Watching his children grow up rapidly through videos… holy shit. That was stunning. The effects are also pretty incredible.
