Yeah, I’d say there is. A good chunk of Gillis’ following and among the types of podcasts in the genre he runs in are made up of terminally online white males ages 15 to 35. Any appearance or mention anywhere results in the entire flock moving towards it. It’s similar to a K-Pop hive but if it were made up of people

Is there a “White Bro” alert that goes out to summon them to spam articles? Because there is no reason for them to be here in such large numbers. They did the same on a “True Detective” piece recently. Not buying there’s this much real interest in an episode of SNL.

Now playing

The cut-for-time sketch might have been the funniest part of the show. A shame it didn’t air:

It was nice getting a window into what could have been if Gillis was cast on the show, turns out he would have blown up either way, outside the regular timing issues and line stumbles that have replaced ‘breaking’ on the show, was smiling every sketch but not laughing through them.  Monologue was excellent and sounded

Okay, grandpa. Lol. This isn’t 1999, you don’t need to star in a sitcom to be famous. He sells out every stand up show he does, he has a huge comedy podcast, he appears on every other giant comedy podcast. He’s famous among young people, not elderly guys who can’t find their clicker.

lol, was a funny episode, but I knew before coming here AV Club would trash it. Can’t just gracefully take their L and accept that the guy they tried to help ruin a few years ago survived it.

C+ is about where I would put this episode...

The Pre-taped stuff was not bad.   The live stuff was not so great at all.

Stop reading,  or do you just like being outraged and ranting?

Theres a tinfoil hat style conspiracy theory that the “no middle ground “ way of thinking exists to keep people fighting each other and not the people in power ..honestly the universe is too messy for some sort of shadowy elite being able to get away with doing orchestrating that artificially , but it having naturally

Marcello Hernandez’s cameo

“racist makes demeaning jokes about people with disabilities“

Yeah. Sherman seems enjoying the skits the most. Especially that fugly sex doll part.

He seems like a jovial guy and it was a fun episode. Quite different from all the “racist makes demeaning jokes about people with disabilities“ buildup some people have tried to make happen.
I’d go for a B, because there wasn’t a single sketch I wanted to fast forward through (except for the cold open of course).

No, you don’t need to rewatch season 1. They just make some minor references to elements of it, but it’s not important to understanding what’s going on in season 4.

Well first of all tv shows don’t just air once and never again, especially now in the age of streaming when they are archived and can be accessed at the touch of a button. Some people watch stuff more than once, some people may have watched it more recently than a decade ago.

S1 of True Detective is one of the most over praised show’s ever created. What made the show memorable had nothing to do with Pizzolatto’s amateurish film school writing but was more so because of Woody Harrelson/Matt McConaughey chemistry, Cary Fukunaga’s directing & Alexandra Daddario’s physique.

How dare you slander the Koog

Lil’ Timmy is really committed to the “be a raging dickhead on kinja” bit, for whatever stupid/pathetic reason kinja trolls do kinja troll shit.

This man is celebrated for 1 season of television; he wasn’t a better writer in season 1 than he was for seasons 2 or 3. The difference was 1) 2 strong performers who really gelled with the material and each other and 2) a fantastic blend of direction, cinematography and production design that was not repeated in

The people I know who are watching S4 don’t even know the creative team changed, they just know it got good again after 2 seasons they didn’t like. I tell them it’s a new creative team and they’re super surprised.
