I drove that highway in February one time, setting out from Edmonton after a morning meeting, about an hour into what would become a full-on blizzard. I was supposed to stop in Red Deer for another meeting on the way to Calgary. But spun-out cars littered the sides of the highway, and I heard on the radio that tow

My father was a long-haul truck driver long ago, and even then that road was harrowing.  It was usually the conclusion of a haul from Toronto to Edmonton, and he has some stories.  They all seem to involve a millon car pile up.

I’d say this style house is more the “push rod V8" of houses - it’s the cheapest way to get the most house (displacement) in the smallest physical space possible, so that you can shove that puppy anywhere. It fits just fine on a fifth acre lot (Corvette) but you can readily put one on2 acres (Silverado).

That’s the face of a man who has no idea how lucky he is and strikes me as someone who will be right back out there as soon as he can.

Did you just time travel from 2003?

I had an NA for 4 years. it was a fun little car with tons of grip once you slapped some 8 inch tires on it.

Interesting option… not sure I would have thought of that. Makes sense now that I think of it…

Beat me to it, totally agree, they got it right, sales success, success with the critics and motoring public, retro done right.

This makes plenty of good sense. Now extend it to include additional licencing and training for larger and more powerful trucks”

Hell, we got special requirements for large enough vehicles that crossover into commercial sized trucks and busses. Just extend those down a bit.

Forget just for special vehicles. I’d love a full Finnish multi-staged provisional licensing with real driver training and loss of grip/crash defensive driving included. Provisional learners, then an interim restricted license, then add more and more privileges till they prove competency.

This could have become a “I never thought this would happen to me” story if only your MGB had been able to keep up with that 996.

Heroic: Not really
EPIC: Absolutely!

I just read about the name of Burma/Myanmar, and it’s not all that straight forward. What’s unexpected is that many perceive “Myanmar” as being more inclusive of the minorities in the country, but the minorities themselves prefer “Burma” as the word Myanmar is more purely Burmese. Aung San Suu Kyi fought the

Just yesterday a friend of mine was complaining about bikes taking up one lane of a four lane street! I was like, was there a bike lane? Him - No. Me - well then, bikes are supposed to take a lane, they were doing the right thing *confused*. Him - I KNOW it is allowed, but bikes just shouldn’t be allowed on the

You got that right. This is yet another unintended consequence of what happens when you turn a proven mechanical linkage into a switch.

Do you also make do with the cheapest entry level Kia?

Unfortunately, I know plenty of people who don't understand the purpose of a bicycle.

“ childrens toys” lol tell that to the literal billions of people who use bikes every single day to get to school (college), work, etc.
