As a current Central Coaster, I have to agree. I like my weekend trips up/down the coast, but I enjoy getting away from it all at the end.

YES. As a former Volvo wagon owner I’m super biased here, but this is absolutely the answer. Fun to drive, safe, not huge, still room for the dog (or antiques) in the back. Those are two shitty SUPs on the roof, rig would look far less ridiculous with a shortboard up top and either way, the trunk still opens.
