It’s not so much about when individuals are crossing, and more about the impact on trade and commerce between large partners. Issues arise as transactions become more complicated... The RFP had to be responded to by 4:00 PM? Wait - is that Washington time or Vancouver Time? It’s Vancouver, Washington time? Oh no....

It’s difficult, in part I assume, because it requires some degree of international cooperation and timing to do it right. The status quo is, I think, better than a situation where, for example, it’s 7:00 AM in British Columbia, but 8:00 AM immediately south in Washington State.

Yep - just looked through his discography. He has some upbeat, even happy, songs in there but most of the classics (with one or two exceptions) are are pretty sad, depressing, melancholy, or outright tragic, even if the beat and tempo are up (such as Don Quixote).

Yeah, I’m rethinking it now that I’ve re-read the article.  I missed the part where the gun was in the holster, first.  I thought it was just beside him in the car.

Easy there dude - I’m just interpreting this sentence: “He seemingly reached for the side of his body where his gun was located in its holster, but it’s unclear what he was reaching for.”

While this is definitely a more sympathetic case for the cops than other situations where someone is killed, based on the write up, it sounds like an excessive use of violence by the police. And another example of why cops need better training and hiring policies need to focus on finding people who are able to better

60 second reactions to these hot takes:

Well her take is just “I hate everything about cars and view them as an extension of the patriarchy”. Which really does raise the question as to why she’d write for an online car blog.

I copied this to come and paste it into almost exactly the same response. So I’ll just sign on here. What a load of horse shit.

Lexus claims that the yoke design makes it easier to see the instrument screen

That’s completely subjective though. A lot of people just enjoy their sports cars driving around slowly with a massive burbling engine making all sorts of high-horsepower sounds.  The whole muscle car / supercar thing is based on that.

oh that’s a good one. The verse that always get me is this one:

Another great song. But man, I’m not sure how we can say a song with these lyrics isn’t sad enough:

Now playing

Gordon Lightfoot is the king of sad driving songs. The one that is probably the best - Carefree Highway.

And once it hit the news channels that you were fired for helping save a kid - they’d be begging you to come back.  And probably with all sorts of bonuses and benefits.  Forgetting for a moment about all the other offers that’d be heading your way.

It’s the thief’s fault, but if I was a parent who never got their child back because a corporation refused to assist the police in locating my car as quickly as possible, I’d be blaming them every bit as much.

Why so defensive though?  He’s not saying NO ONE needs these trucks.  just the most people don’t.  And that’s true.  Maybe you’re just the exception?

Without a doubt the ID Buzz. They had an original camper can back in the 80s, and a Eurovan in the 90s - and they absolutely loved both of them. Their next car is going to be an EV, and that’d be the one they should get. Though, of course, with the anticipated prices being what they are, they won’t.  Could they afford

For some reason I read this in Dan Ackroyd’s voice.

Well no - but not from a lack of willingness to pay!
