Its profile feels more ‘restyled Bentley GT’ than modern 356.

I’m sorry, but someone needs to step up the editing on this site.  I get not catching imperfect grammar, or the occasional spelling mistake - there’s a lot of content here.  But SURELY someone should have seen and fixed the random assortment of numbers and letters in the title, and in the body of the text.  It’s not

And comedy includes calling her children idiots because their mother in a highly preventable accident? Those jokes fall far on the sociopathic side of the line.

I think VWs are far more reliable - particularly now - then their reputation would have you believe.

Yes it is.  have you not been watching the news?

Much to my chagrin, Honda has done a good job at keeping me around - having bought two civics, a Fit, a CRZ and an Element from them.

Yep - exactly. And ultimately, every car company is in the business of selling two things. Vehicles, yes. But far more importantly they sell a lifestyle, or the perception of a lifestyle.  Doesn’t matter if it’s Ferrari or Kia.

I mean, sure?  But he’s hardly unique to this world - and the point is that there are a ton of people with just enough wealth to be able to afford to finance one of these. And they will in droves.  And the fact that most of them will be upper-middle class dudes working in offices is a given.

They’ve made great strides in stretchy pant fabric in recent years.

See, this is where I think it’s brilliant - the purists will always bitch. But they’re also a small minority of potential purchasers - and they probably already own their favorite generation of Corvette or Mustang.

Eh. And whatever. Does the Mach-E take away anything from the existing Mustang? Or the great cars from the past.

Hard disagree. This design is also accepted:

It’s funny because most of the blue collar guys I know don’t drive anything like those kinds of trucks. The exception being the rig workers in Alberta who’d make bank when working up north and usually didn’t have much else to spend their money on.

Maybe true, but when my middle-class suburban friend needed a vehicle for his 2 kids, and a dog - that’s what he got.

are you suggesting that masculinity and sensuality are somehow at odds?

This seems like a very odd take. If you want a classic Porsche to be kept classic - go buy one and do it.

Agreed, the Phoenix Suns (and the Mercury too, to be fair), just sold for $4B.  Or, on their own, a quarter of F1.  Granted, this $20B number doesn’t include the teams - just the F1 itself - but still.

Why? It’s a product being sold by a for-profit corporation. If it’s generating that profit, then how is it not meeting its purpose?

The Liberty Walk is worth it just for the knowledge that the Ferraristi elite must be absolutely beside themselves in exceptional outrage. Chianti flung everywhere. Armani suits rent into scraps of fabric and tears.
