Gravity means that they’re already in an uncontrolled slide. Taking the foot off of the brake doesn’t change that direction of travel. Steering with a rolling wheel on ice, downhill still doesn’t give you enough control or traction to do anything except maybe plow into oncoming traffic.

I haven’t taken a skills test since 1982.
