My family loved this tv show called Desmond's, it was British sitcom about a West Indian family living in London. I can still sing the themesong "Don't Scratch My Soca" — I think it played on BET in the US (which is where we must have watched it). My mom is Belizean and I think she just liked hearing similar

I just step outside my front door. Damn, I need to move.

I can barely control myself over the news of this latest escapade

It's been raining non-stop which is good news for my hibiscus which has 5 blooming flowers right now!

I just got a new dog from the pound two weeks ago and she's so sweet and pretty. Shes picking up potty training fast and gets along beautifully with the older dog

I'm trying to plan a trip to San Francisco. I've never been and it'll be nice to get a break from the New Orleans heat for a minute.

I'm going to see Courtney Barnett and Morrissey in the same week!!!!

Started a series rewatch of X-Files with my boo!

Chastity Belt - Joke
Bully - I Remember
Lee Fields - You're the Kind of Girl
Trina - Pull Over
Wild Ones - Rivals
Kate Davis - I'll take Romance
Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns - Don't Start With Me
Wayne Shorter - Ponta de Areia
Charlie Gracie - Butterfly
Erykah Badu - Other Side fo the Game
Los Bukis - Quiereme

I just read Dark Places this week too! I liked it way more than i thought I would. About to start Where They Found Her by Kimberly McCreight

I read this as "It would be great if Netflix could get us a new Terrier …"

I remember I initially started going to the arcade in middle school because I went to an all girl schools and I thought I could meet boys there. Then I promptly forgot all about that plan and got weirdly addicted to (and eerily good at) Mortal Kombat instead. And then that's all I did every day after school.

You rang?

It's not too late

It has a great soundtrack

In art as in life

I will pay any amount to see Paula Deen, Paula Poundstone, and Paula Patton in a movie together. Paula Deen is Paula Poundstone's mom, who has to deal with her own racism because she loves her mixed race granddaughter, Paula Patton.

Unless you're a doctor or a scientist or some other nerd who makes more money than me

Unfortunately, that's true for all women

I'm 34, that's considered old in California, right?
