Leia in Episode VIII should either heroically die - whether it's at war or because of age maybe. Another direction came to my mind was Kylo Ren killing her, like he killed his father - which would then lead to a better Sith than thought, but it's irrelevant to my suggestions. Or to have her final moments and disappear…
