I'm gonna guess 6:15 lap time +/- 5 seconds which is going to be downforce limited attempting to achieve better lap times.

Porsche 919 EVO hybrid on Pikes Peak would beat the VW IDR ezpz.

With more extensive use of aluminum low speed collisions will be costing significantly more and the Model 3 is the best example. Dude was backing out of a parking spot and clipped a parking lot sign. He was quoted $7K and the insurance company talked them down to $5756.28 which 59.5 hours of “alleged” labor occurred.

You seem to miss the entire point that women have a higher probability of getting into an accident per mile driven meaning they are higher risk. NHTSA doesn’t even factor in all the parking lot accidents that don’t necessarily get reported to the police or NHTSA. The insurance company would be the only one knowing

Women are higher risk per mile driven and what the Zebra article omits is parking lot / parking in general accidents that I’d speculate are predominantly done by women. While the actual damage structurally is minimal the cost for labor and parts add up quick. I parked my vehicle at the local grocery store and some woma

That’s lacking some context and men are actually safer drivers when factoring accidents per miles driven.

You live in a bubble and are delusional as the percentage breakdown of F-150 trim level sales are..

Glad to see some rational people propose mild hybrid instead of the typical EV or nothing fanboy craze. An Acura MDX SUV becoming hybrid gains 5 mpg or 30% gain in general. It only adds $1,500 to the vehicle cost that pays for itself in fuel savings within 5 years and less if factoring reduced brake rotor / pad

For buses hydraulic diesel hybrids are more ideal as the initial investment costs are cheaper with far longer lifespan. Unfortunately, most subsidies and grants favor EV’s irrationally.

How many people can afford a $65K and above truck? Come to reality and meet halfway accepting hybrid trucks. Even if it were a mild hybrid with a 1.3 KWh battery pack as the Acura MDX SUV has it gains 5 combined mpg or 30% in general. It only adds $1,500 to the vehicle price and pays for itself in 5 years in fuel

EV trucks make no sense when you factor the price of the Rivian and the aerodynamic efficiency of driving a truck in general. Rivian starts at the upper $60K region before rebates and would be roughly $1,000 to $1,250 depending on how much you put down or interest rate at a 60 month loan term.

As someone whose ridden a train on that route around 10 years ago it’s absurdly slow as you are zig zagging through the Appalachian for hours upon hours going ~35 mph and even then it was more sketchy than flying as the train cars feel like they are trying to derail on turns due to the imperfections on the curved rail

Deductions for the cost of operation and depreciation on assets (oil on the ground) are applied among all industries even mining of minerals for battery production. Claiming these are subsidies is dumb as claiming Starbucks is subsidized by the government for deducting their labor and overhead costs. For any of these

Most of these EV’s have been in development since the early 2000's so these people are out of their mind to even claim the EV market isn’t fully mature as 2nd or 3rd generation models or platforms are released to the market.

All EV’s on the market have been in development since the early 2000's and have now hit the point diminishing returns. I’ll be surprised if any of the 3rd generation even achieve 2% gains. How I view that they don’t need tax credits is the long term cost of ownership are already cheaper than gasoline vehicles. If it

Both technologies are fully mature making that argument moot. Favoring EV’s simply trades wars for oil towards wars for cobalt that double to quadruple the cycle count. What gave hybrids the bad rep are the rubbish CVT’s they all have severely limiting acceleration.

If the ultimate goal was reduce emissions as fast as possible it would be wiser to end all EV subsidies and simply mandate all vehicles become mild hybrids with at minimum ~1.3 KWh battery pack. In an Acura MDX adding such a system boosts it’s combined MPG by 5 or 30% gain. This system only adds $1,500 to the vehicle

To even fully benefit from the $7,500 tax credit you need to have an income of $70,000 after all other deductions. It’s welfare for the wealthy and there is no denying it. Some will chime in but $70K - $100K income in Y city is poverty wages. To which I’d say that’s a failure of your local politicians and naive

On the Dash of every Growler is a riveted sign saying full 90 degree turns exceeding 20 MPH will make it roll. I’d love to see it’s cornering stability compared to a Reliant Robin. BTW, brand new each one of these costs $127K - $208K for a base model gimpy Jeep.
